That’s why the New Volkswagen Jetta GLI, Volkswagen Golf GTI and now Volkswagen Golf R 2023 are still in high demand by everyone. The main competitor, the Ford Focus RS, is rumored to have retired permanently, and this is the toughest foe for the previous generation 2023 Volkswagen Golf R. The New Golf R 2023 has its own AWD hot hatch segment in the US.

New 2023 Golf R Exterior
On the exterior, the New Volkswagen Golf R 2023 looks very similar to its sibling Volkswagen Golf GTI, but there are some differences in some corners. The front is adorned with an exclusive R front bumper with a motorsport-style splitter, an air intake grille with glossy black trim, and a blue bar over the radiator grille with an LED strip that lights up as soon as the engine starts. This strip even extends to the fenders where it also doubles as a day light.

Other enhancements to the 2023 generation Volkswagen Golf R include 19-inch aluminum wheels that sport summer performance tires, blue brake calipers and side skirts. Not only that, there is also a matte chrome exterior cover with the ‘R’ logo, and a standard sunroof. The Golf R 2023 Hatchback also sits 0.8 inches lower than the regular Golf.
At the rear, it is decorated with a rear bumper using a diffuser, while the standard sports exhaust system uses twin chrome-plated tailpipes. Not only that, there is also a functional roof spoiler. And 2023 Volkswagen Golf R Rumors will provide three unique exterior colors as options, namely Lapiz Blue Metallic, Pure White, and Deep Black Pearl Effect.

There is even a dedicated R button that allows direct selection of the available driving modes.

New 2023 VW Golf R Engine
The 2023 Volkswagen Golf R Concept is equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 315 horsepower and produces 310 lb-ft of torque. That’s an increase of 27 horsepower and an additional 30 lb-ft of torque over the previous model. The new Volkswagen Golf R 2023 will be driven by a six-speed manual transmission in the US while a seven-speed DSG dual-clutch gearbox is optional.
The power generated by the engine will be directed to all four wheels via the VW 4Motion all-wheel-drive system which distributes power between each of the rear wheels to improve driving performance. Up to 100 percent of torque can be sent to the outer wheels at a narrow angle, reducing understeer and overall better handling.

The resulting performance is also very impressive, the New Golf R 2023 can accelerate to 0-62 mph in just 4.7 seconds and a top speed, possibly electronically limited to only 155 mph. The resulting speed is able to outperform the Honda Civic Type R 2023 which takes 5.7 seconds to reach 62 mph, but it is important to remember that it is only FWD. The 2023 Golf R model is equipped with Braking power thanks to two-piston aluminum front calipers that reduce mass by up to 60 percent on each side. Thanks to its Nurburgring settings, and the Golf R offer Special and Drift driving modes along with Comfort, Sport, Race, and Individual.
2023 Volkswagen Golf R Price Rumors
Volkswagen hasn’t announced an official pricing yet, although we don’t expect it to differ significantly from the $ 40,500 starting price tag of the previous Golf R. By comparison, a Golf GTI starts at around $ 35,000. As previously mentioned, the VW Golf R 2023 has no direct AWD hot hatch rival now that the Ford Focus RS is no longer a competitor. But several other competitors are also ready to give their best to be at the forefront, such as the Honda Civic Type R and Hyundai Veloster N, and the Mini Cooper JCW.
